Hello!

Nothing like starting off your first post with a big W.

Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman returned to Houston on Monday night for the first time since his departure at the end of last season.  Looking to turn the tables, the Wolves surged to an easy 120-108 victory thanks in large part to a 42 point third quarter.  Shooting a season high 58% from the field the Wolves were almost unstoppable.   Micheal Beasley scored a game-high 38 off the bench (a franchise record for single-game points by a reserve) while rookie of the year front runner Ricky Rubio provided 18 points, 11 dimes, and 8 rebounds, just two boards away from his first career triple-double. Kevin Martin led the Rockets with 29 points after missing the previous two games with right heel soreness.

Notes:

-Wolves 1st round pick (second overall) Foward Derrick Williams only saw six minutes of action, while Adelman chose to use a smaller lineup.  The recent strong play of Anthony Randolph and return of Beasley (foot) and guard-forward Martell Webster has really provided limited minutes to a full back-court that is headed by All-Star Kevin Love.

-Center Dark Milicic did not fly with the team to Houston, missing his second consecutive game due to an illness.

-Another frustrating game for Guard Wes Johnson, who couldn’t hold onto the basketball all game.  Johnson, who started the game, had six turnovers in 20 minutes, while only providing four points.  A disappointing game for the 1st round (fifth overall) pick in the 2010 NBA draft.
